Day Four - General Motors Diet

yesterday was definitely an interesting day lol, but i lost another -1.2 lbs, so totaling -8.2 so far ... not too shabby.  here's a reminder what day four was all about

day four - bananas and milk.  eat as many as 8 bananas and drink 3 glasses of milk.  this is to be coupled with the soup.
(bananas, milk, and soup sound the strangest and least desirable.  you're in for a surprise.  you probably will not eat all the bananas allowed, but they are there for the potassium you have lost and the sodium you may have missed the past three days.  you will notice a definite loss of desire for sweets.  you will be surprised how easy this day will go)

what i ate (well that isn't much of a mystery) ...
     3 cups of skim milk
     5 bananas

last time i did this cleanse i made a huge pot of the soup and barely ate any of it, so this time i just didn't make it - that's why i didn't eat any of the soup ... but i basically had to force myself to eat the bananas because like it's stated above, i wasn't hungry

guess what?!?! i got in 11 cups of water today!!!! heck yea!

i'm not so sure about these tomatoes for today AND i have to add an additional quart to my water intake - oh joy!

until then ...

Day Three - General Motors Diet

well yesterday got easier, but i still felt hungry alot of the day - but i weighed this morning and i lost another -2.2 lbs, totaling -7 lbs so far!

here's a reminder what yesterday was ...

day three - fruits (no bananas) and veggies (no potatoes).  any amount, any quantity
(eliminates the potato because you get your carbs from the fruits.  your system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds.  you will still have cravings, which should start to diminish by day four)

i had ...
     10 pieces of cantaloupe
     1/2 carton of strawberries
     1 cucumber
     2 handfuls of grapes
     1/2 mango
1 cup of frozen green beans

once again i wasn't able to do the full 10 cups of water!! that's alot harder than i thought it would be - i had 8 though ... i'm going to try better today about intentually drinking water instead of just drinking it when i'm thirsty

today should be interesting with all the bananas, but until then ...

Day Two - General Motors Diet

so i completed day two yesterday and this morning i was down another -1.6 lbs, so totaling -4.8 so far!

yesterday was harder than i anticipated.  i was never really hungry, but i had a headache most of the day - i think due to lack of anything with substance.  here's a reminder what day two was ...

day two - all veggies.  start your day with a large baked potato for breakfast (complex carb) with 1 pat of butter and then eat until you are stuffed with raw or cooked veggies
(starts with a fix of complex card, coupled with an oil dose.  this is taken in the morning for energy and balance.  the rest of day two consists of veggies which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fiber)

yesterday i ate ...
2 small baked potatoes (with a pat of butter)
     2 cucumbers
     1/4 bag of baby carrots

i had 9 cups of water today, not quite 10 cups, but almost there! i'll get it today!

today is fruits and veggies - i'm thinking it's going to be a pretty easy day!

Day One - General Motors Diet

so i yesterday i completed day one.  definitely harder than i anticipated, but not completely unbearable.  i lost -3.2 lbs!

just to remind you, this is what day one was ...

day one - all fruits (except bananas).  you can eat all the fruits that you want, but it is strongly suggested to consume lots of melons
(you are preparing your system for the upcoming program.  your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits.  fruits are nature's perfect food.  they provide everything you could possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety)

yesterday  i ate ...
     1 medium size orange
     1 medium size apple
     1 regular size plum
     1/2 a carton of strawberries
     2 handfuls of grapes
     4 pieces of cantaloupe

i didn't start drinking water until about midday, so i ended up only having about 6 cups, so i'm going to start drinking it first thing today.

today is veggie day, i'll write about it tomorrow, but until then ...

General Motors: Weight Loss Diet Program

to start my JOURNEY.TO.NEW.HEALTHY.ME. i've decided to begin with a cleanse - to eliminate all sweets, fats, and carbs from my body for a week.  i chose to do the General Motors: Weight Loss Diet Program.  i did this cleanse a while ago and lost 12 lbs by doing it, but didn't keep up the healthy lifestyle, so of course i gained it all back.  here's to trying it again!

here's a brief overview of each day of this diet ...

day one - all fruits (except bananas).  you can eat all the fruits that you want, but it is strongly suggested to consume lots of melons
(you are preparing your system for the upcoming program.  your only source of nutrition is fresh or canned fruits.  fruits are nature's perfect food.  they provide everything you could possibly want to sustain life except total balance and variety)

day two - all veggies.  start your day with a large baked potato for breakfast (complex carb) with 1 pat of butter and then eat until you are stuffed with raw or cooked veggies
(starts with a fix of complex carb, coupled with an oil dose.  this is taken in the morning for energy and balance.  the rest of day two consists of veggies which are virtually calorie free and provide essential nutrients and fiber)

day three - fruits (no bananas) and veggies (no potatoes).  any amount, any quantity
(eliminates the potato because you get your carbs from the fruits.  your system is now prepared to start burning excess pounds.  you will still have cravings, which should start to diminish by day four)

day four - bananas and milk.  eat as many as 8 bananas and drink 3 glasses of milk.  this is to be coupled with the soup.
(bananas, milk, and soup sound the strangest and least desirable.  you're in for a surprise.  you probably will not eat all the bananas allowed, but they are there for the potassium you have lost and the sodium you may have missed the past three days.  you will notice a definite loss of desire for sweets.  you will be surprised how easy this day will go)

day five - beef and tomatoes.  2 10oz portions of lean beef and 6 whole tomatoes.  increase water intake by 1 quart (cleanse your body of uric acid)
(the beef is for iron and protein and the tomatoes are for digestion and fiber.  lots and lots of water purifies your system.  you should notice colorless urine today.  your allowance calls for the equivalent of 5 "quarter pounders" - do not feel you have to eat all this beef, but you must eat the 6 tomatoes)

day six - beef and veggies.  eat as much beef and veggies that you want
(similar to day five, iron and proteins from beef, vitamins and fiber from veggies.  by now your system is in a total weight loss inclination.  there should be a noticeable difference in the way you look today, compared to day one)

day seven - brown rice, fruit juices, and veggies.  eat as much brown rice and veggies as you want and drink fresh squeezed fruit juice (in addition to your water)
(finish off the program with Victorian meals, except much healthier.  you have your system under control and it should thank you for the flushing and cleaning you just gave it)

general motor's wonder soup ...

the following soup is intended as a supplement to your diet.  it can be eaten any time of the day in virtually unlimited quantities.  you are encouraged to consume large quantities of this soup.

28 oz water
6 large onions
2 green peppers
whole tomatoes (fresh or canned)
1 head cabbage
1 bunch celery
4 envelopes lipton onion soup mix
herbs and flavoring as desired

beverages you can consume …

10-15 cups of water (flavored with lemon/lime if desired)
club soda
black coffee – no cream or cream substitute, no sugar or sweetness
black tea – herb or leaf

well, here goes nothing ...

Journey.To.New.Healthy.Me.

i have been on the heavy side my whole life, but typically it doesn't bother me.  i'm a pretty confident person and have a very outgoing personality, which i think helps me not get so tide up with my body image.  but i am a girl, so i do get down on myself sometimes.

a little over a year ago i started attempting to lose weight.  i went to zumba classes, i joined a gym, and started eating healthier (with the help of myfitnesspal app).  i would have a great couple weeks and then go off everything, then get dedicated again, and then lose motivation again. it was a vicious sea-saw cycle.

at the end of last summer (August 2012) i had managed to lose 37 lbs - which was the biggest amount i'd lost at one time without gaining it back.  but then nursing school started and any of the good habits i had formed quickly left and all the old habits came back super quickly.  i was eating fast food all the time, consuming tons of diet drinks/energy drinks, and not working out.

on top of nursing school i have had various family issues over the past year that has only increased the stress on my life.  to make matters even worse, i started to feel extremely depressed.  there were days that i wouldn't have got out of bed if i didn't have to go to class.  i didn't want to hang out with anyone, i just wanted to be alone.  along with the depression came over eating.  i couldn't find comfort in anything, except food.  it was my escape.

the confident me is no longer there currently.  i fell horrible.  i have gained all the weight back and i'm at my heaviest yet again, + 1 pound.  i am miserable.  i just feel "blah".  i have to do something to get my spunk back and to make myself feel better.

so this is my journey.  this isn't for my family.  it isn't for my friends.  it isn't for a guy.  and it's not to try and fit in.  this is for me.  this is my chance to take action and make myself feel better and to get healthier for me.

it's time to get back to the grind of working out, eating healthy, and just living a better lifestyle.  i'm blogging my journey to hopefully keep me accountable to stay with it!
